Cerebral Valley, Abridge, Anthropic, and Lightspeed hosted a one-day, in-person hackathon at SHACK15 focused on real clinical and operational workflows in healthcare. Over 100 teams shipped agentic systems tackling problems like prior authorization, clinical trial matching, and the messy operational work that eats up clinicians’ time.
I judged alongside a panel from Abridge, evaluating live demos and giving feedback on how each team framed the problem, chose their constraints, and made judgment calls under a $4T industry’s worth of edge cases.

Had a blast judging the Abridge x Anthropic x Lightspeed hackathon at SHACK15 last weekend, alongside Taruj Goyal and Markan Patel from Abridge.
Still gets me how much raw talent is packed into a few square miles here in SF.
Over 100 teams building agentic systems for real clinical workflows in a single day. Think → prior auth, trial matching, the messy operational stuff that actually eats up clinicians’ time. Healthcare’s a hard space to build in for good reason, so it was pretty cool to see people take it on head-first. Great seeing some familiar faces as well Saad Jeelani & Hamza Ejaz.
